Studies of Hong Kong Cityscape
Video documented performance. cement. acrylic. 2013

Studying the city of Hong Kong at the scale of the surrounding landscape. Observing the mountains and harbour appearing to force the city in on itself. Reflective of plate tectonics, the city naturally has been forced to expand upward as opposed to outward.
Using local materials the resulting work explored the idea of force and it's similarities to plate tectonics through performance, installation and a series of sculptures.
This work was produced as part of the Porosity Studio in Hong Kong and was chosen for M Contemporary's Young Artists Initiative exhibition. It was also awarded the 'Installation or Screen Based Award' at the COFA Annual, 2013.
